Charm, charisma with a bit of swagger thrown is a fair description of Musa Kalenga.

Musa gave a superb presentation at the Mobile Web Africa Conference, where he brought in a bunch of bright-eyed youngsters as a consumer panel. It was fresh, original and so well received that you would think that listening to your (or your clients) customers is a new concept.

Marketing To The Youth

Musa does two things well. He informs and he entertains. I caught up with Musa after the conference. In this short podcast, Musa and I have a chat about some of the key take-outs and where he sees youth marketing going, including:

* Why brands are suffering a too much cash paradigm and why this is dangerous?
* Understanding the three types of brands – and why you need to peg yours down?
* What brands needs to focus on when marketing to the youth?
* What’s happening with the consumer of tomorrow?
* Why a micro point of view is more important than a macro view?
* Why you don’t need cash to create a cult following?
* How brands can become more tactical with their budgets?
